What is the mechanism for preserving biological samples using liquid nitrogen?

In general, the lower the storage temperature of biological samples, the lower their metabolic activity. Liquid nitrogen storage can reach as low as -196°C, effectively halting biological metabolism and enabling long-term preservation.

We use gaseous liquid nitrogen storage, which helps prevent sample cross-contamination during long-term preservation.

It can store up to 55,000 0.5 mL cryogenic vials and 22,000 2 mL cryogenic vials.

It supports SBS standard cryogenic vials in 0.5 mL, 0.75 mL, 1 mL, 2 mL, and 5 mL formats from mainstream brands.

The temperature at the top of the tank is lower than -180°C, and the tube-picking area is maintained at or below -150°C.

The system authorizes designated operators through the software terminal. Before accessing samples, applications must be submitted and approved by the relevant personnel.

Samples can be transported using sample transport boxes, where the samples to be accessed are placed inside the box for transportation.

By accurately recognizing and binding information through scanning the one-dimensional codes on in-and-out sample boxes and the two-dimensional codes on sample tubes, the system rejects any sample that does not match the stored information.

The installation room should meet requirements for temperature, humidity, floor load, transport access, door width, ceiling height, network access, power supply, and ventilation, including a floor load of at least 700 kg/m² and a door width of at least 1.5 metres.

The system includes UPS backup power and insulation designed to keep samples safe for over 288 hours, helping protect sample integrity during interruptions.
