CLab-LT FAQs
CLab-LT - Frequently Asked Questions
How does the sample library maintain thermal insulation?
The sample library uses insulated panels with an outer color steel layer, an inner stainless steel layer, and polyurethane insulation cotton in between. The base also uses a double-insulation structure to help maintain stable low-temperature storage.
How does the sample library manage access permissions?
The sample library is operated by authorized personnel through the software interface. Before sample access, an application must be submitted in the system and approved by relevant personnel to generate an order.
What is the temperature range of the sample library?
The storage temperature is -80±5°C.
What is the maximum sample storage capacity of the sample library?
The storage capacity is customized according to the site and can range from 500,000 to several million samples.
What unit is used for the storage capacity of the sample library?
Storage capacity is calculated using SBS 0.75 mL cryovials as the conversion reference, following international industry practice.
How does the sample library prevent incorrect sample retrieval?
The system binds sample information by scanning the 1D code of the sample box and the 2D code of the sample tube during storage and retrieval. If a sample does not match the stored information, it will be rejected.
What types of cryovials can the sample library store?
It supports multiple specifications of SBS cryovials from mainstream brands, including 0.5 mL, 0.75 mL, 1 mL, 2 mL, and 5 mL formats.
Can the sample library use the EP tubes we are currently using?
If only whole-box storage and retrieval are needed, EP tubes can be used. However, they do not support tube picking, so single-tube storage and retrieval is not possible.
What are the requirements for the room where the sample library is located?
The room should not exceed 25°C in temperature and 50% RH in humidity. It should also have ventilation or fresh air, no obvious vibration sources, and sufficient power, lighting, and drainage preparation.
What happens if there is a power failure?
The system includes UPS backup power, which supports continued operation of the automated structure for 0.5 hours to complete the storage or retrieval process. After a power failure, liquid nitrogen supply helps maintain the internal temperature.
