ZSM - Frequently Asked Questions

What is ZSM Lite and how does it work?

ZSM Lite is a biosample management system that tracks samples throughout their lifecycle, from storage to disposal, recording sample data, storage location, container details and operator activity.

It is designed for small to medium-sized biobanks managing fewer than 500,000 samples, offering a cost-effective and easy-to-use solution.

It supports a wide range of sample types, including blood, plasma, tissue, plant and animal samples, with around 30 built-in types and options for customisation.

ZSM Lite is compatible with common storage formats such as cryovials, cryocassettes, perforated plates and straws.

It integrates with the ZLIMS system and connects with MGICLab-LN series cryogenic storage devices, while remaining compatible with standard storage equipment like freezers and liquid nitrogen tanks.

When connected on the same network, it enables real-time synchronisation of storage conditions, container structure, sample movement and storage status.

ZSM Pro supports unlimited samples, advanced workflow management, QC reporting, project management and integration with third-party systems and devices.
