What are the key differences between ZTRON Lite and ZTRON Pro?

ZTRON Lite is a tower server configured with ZLIMS Lite for basic data management and primary analysis. ZTRON Pro is a rack-mounted server that can expand with MegaBOLT bioinformatics accelerators, includes an enterprise-grade switch for multiple network interfaces, and runs ZLIMS Pro, granting access to a wider range of analysis applications via the app marketplace.

ZTRON Lite handles primary analysis (FASTQ generation) and does not support whole-genome sequencing (WGS). ZTRON Pro supports end-to-end WGS analysis: for a T7 run with four PE100 flow cells, FASTQ writing to analysis completion takes approximately 1–3 hours.

By default, ZTRON Pro does not include an FPGA module; acceleration is achieved through CPU and optional GPU resources depending on configuration.

ZTRON Lite uses CRC32 checksums to validate file integrity, with optional MD5 checksum generation available on request to meet client delivery protocols.

ZTRON Lite offers laboratory device integration for full-process digitization, automated analysis task scheduling with real-time job tracking, and rule-based data delivery and governance, including automated data deletion and dynamic lifecycle management.

ZTRON Lite receives .cal files from DNBSEQ-T7 and offers two delivery modes: local FASTQ generation followed by transfer to on-premises or cloud data centres, or direct remote FASTQ output to user-specified data centres.

ZTRON Pro supports million-sample lifecycle management, PB-scale high-performance genomic data storage with parallel file systems (500 TB or 100 PB standard configurations, expandable to 100 PB), an application marketplace with 100+ tools, and heterogeneous compute (GPU+CPU for FASTQ conversion; CPU+FPGA for VCF variant calling) to accelerate WGS/WES workflows.
