Recently, at the 14th International Genomics Conference (ICG-14) held in Shenzhen, MGI’s new product launch drew wide attention from the genomics industry. Following the event, experts from both academia and industry shared their perspectives through interviews and discussions.

With MGI releasing new products yearly—from the ultra-high-throughput DNBSEQ-T7 to the portable DNBSEQ E series—the potential for collaboration in clinical disease, oncology, and hereditary disorders is significant.”

Addressing Data Analysis Challenges

Li Qibin, PhD, Clabee Genomics: “High-throughput sequencing is increasingly convenient, but clinical data analysis remains challenging, requiring high-performance computing and professional bioinformatics expertise. We partnered with MGI to develop a genetic data analysis and interpretation machine, combining MGI’s Megabolt bioinformatics acceleration package with Clabee Genomics’ Seqmax platform to support clinical genetic diagnostics. The new MGI products at ICG show promise for broader adoption in research institutions and hospitals.”

Compact, Powerful Single-Cell Processing

Tian Geng, CEO, Geneis: “My career started at BGI, and genomics has been a major part of my life. At this year’s ICG, the new portable single-cell processing device impressed me. Weighing just 200 grams, it requires no professional test bench or lab yet delivers powerful single-cell preparation. The DNBSEQ-G400 has provided high-quality data, and I look forward to shorter run times and improved industrial design.”

Supporting Domestic Sequencing Platforms

Xue Yaxin, Marketing Director, Nanodigmbio Technology: “We partnered with MGI to provide complete library preparation and target enrichment packages for the DNBSEQ platform, ensuring users receive high-quality application support.
