At the 14th International Conference on Genomics in Shenzhen, MGI Tech and Agilent Technologies signed a strategic agreement to deepen cooperation in high-throughput sequencing. The partnership integrates MGI’s DNBSEQ™ sequencing platforms with Agilent’s SLIMS laboratory information management system, creating a more efficient and reliable overall sequencing workflow.
The collaboration combines MGI’s strengths in sequencing technology, including DNA single-chain circularization, patterned arrays, cPAS chemistry, and low-error paired-end sequencing, with Agilent SLIMS, which offers comprehensive electronic lab notebooks, sample and workflow management, order tracking, and data visualisation. This integration enables seamless coordination between hardware and software, improving lab efficiency and compliance across clinical, research, and analytical settings.
MGI and Agilent first collaborated in 2017 at MGI’s Australian lab, achieving full integration between DNBSEQ platforms and SLIMS for inventory management and online process tracking. Building on this foundation, the new agreement aims to extend these capabilities globally, supporting high-throughput clinical applications, streamlined laboratory workflows, and enhanced service for researchers and diagnostic laboratories.
