MGI DNBSEQ-G99 Gene Sequencer Wins iF Design Award
Shenzhen, China, 20th April 2023 – MGI Tech Co., Ltd. (“MGI”), a company committed to building core tools and technology to lead life science, is proud to announce that its DNBSEQ-G99 gene sequencer has been awarded the iF Design Award. The DNBSEQ-G99 platform has been recognised for its disciplined user interface experience, featuring three flowcell loading methods to enhance flexibility, timely interactive feedback and process reminders to improve user interaction, and excellent fault tolerance to support users’ learning and cognition.
About the DNBSEQ-G99 Platform
The DNBSEQ-G99 gene sequencing platform is a full-process gene sequencing system developed based on MGI’s independent intellectual property. It integrates sequencing biochemical reactions, image acquisition, data analysis and processing, and result reporting. The platform is widely applied in small and medium-flux desktop sequencers and simplifies operations while enhancing the user experience through three flowcell loading modes: single-sided (A/B), double-sided (A+B), and alternating loading. This allows sequencing or washing tasks to be performed simultaneously, improving workflow flexibility.
The platform also features interactive feedback and process reminders that give users adequate time and assurance to perform tasks safely. Its excellent fault tolerance provides prompts for inappropriate operations or incorrect scenarios, facilitating learning and cognition. Interactions can be made with one click, reducing cognitive effort and improving efficiency.
iF Design Award Recognition
Established in 1953, the iF Design Awards are internationally recognised as one of the world’s most prestigious design awards, often referred to as the “Oscar of Design”. This is the third iF Design Award for MGI. In 2019, MGI won for the DNBSEQ-T7* and Benchtop sequencing lab DNBSEQ-E5*, and for the Robotic Ultrasound System in 2017.
