On 21 December 2019, MGI held its 2019 Sequencing Summit in Beijing, marking the delivery of the DNBSEQ-T7 ultra-high-throughput sequencer to Beijing Gene+ Technology Co., Ltd. The two companies signed a strategic cooperation agreement to advance sequencing capabilities and precision medical applications.
Gene+ will integrate the DNBSEQ-T7 into its Beijing Medical Laboratory. Leveraging its speed, flexibility and ultra-high throughput, the platform will enhance Gene+’s data analysis and delivery, supporting oncology research and clinical services. Gene+ currently manages big data from over 130,000 real tumor samples and provides mutation spectrum and tumor population research support.
The delivery of DNBSEQ-T7 complements Gene+’s “Jiyun” cloud information analysis platform, which offers genetic data storage, sharing, analysis, and management for clinicians, pharmaceutical companies and research institutions. This enables efficient, accurate and timely research and clinical translation.
As the world’s most powerful sequencer, DNBSEQ-T7 features industry-leading chips, fluidics, biochemical and optical systems. Four chips can run independently, with a 20% higher chip density achieving Tb-level data output.

Early users, including Dr. Chen Gang, founder of Wegene, reported the DNBSEQ-T7 is stable, reliable and capable of supporting personal genome services and large-scale population genome research.
At the summit, MGI also showcased the CoolMPS high-throughput sequencing reagent kit and MGISP series automated library preparation equipment. CoolMPS improves base recognition through antibody-specific detection, enhancing signal strength and read length, while MGISP automates library preparation, simplifying high-throughput sequencing workflows.
