Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 30 January 2023 — MGI Tech Co., Ltd. (MGI), a company committed to building core tools and technologies to lead life science, will introduce several of its latest gene sequencing platforms and sample preparation systems at MEDLAB Middle East 2023, taking place from 6–9 February in Dubai.

Ahead of the event, MGI will also host a demonstration of its innovative robotic ultrasound system, MGIUS-R3, at Arab Health, running from now until 2 February, also in Dubai.

“We are excited to launch three new products at MEDLAB Middle East, including DNBSEQ-G99*, our latest mid- to low-throughput gene sequencer, DNBSEQ-E25*, a portable sequencer designed for very low-throughput applications, and the DNBelab-D4 digital sample preparation system,” said Dr Roy Tan, General Manager of MGI Asia Pacific.

“In addition, our MGISP-100 automated sample preparation system will be on display for visitors who wish to learn more. Once again, MGI demonstrates its commitment to supporting healthcare, scientific research and clinical applications across the Middle East through our genomic technologies.”

DNBSEQ-G99: Ultra-Fast Mid-Throughput Sequencing

One of the fastest sequencers globally within its throughput class*, DNBSEQ-G99* is built on MGI’s proprietary DNBSEQ™ sequencing technology. It adopts a triangular matrix signal spot design on the sequencing flow cell for the first time, alongside innovations in biochemistry, optics, fluidics and temperature control.

This design enables higher data density with an overall output of 8–48 Gb per run. DNBSEQ-G99* is particularly well suited for targeted gene sequencing and small genome sequencing, completing PE150 sequencing runs in as little as 12 hours.

DNBSEQ-E25: Portable Sequencing on Demand

DNBSEQ-E25*, the flagship product of the E Series, is a portable, accessible and user-friendly sequencer delivering up to 7.5 Gb of data per day. Built on a newly designed self-luminous biochemical system, it features upgraded sequencing chemistry, flow cells and cartridges.

Equipped with built-in bioinformatics, DNBSEQ-E25* enables on-site sequencing and data analysis, generating reports on the go. The system is ready to run in just ten minutes and delivers FASTQ data within approximately 20 hours from sample to result.

DNBelab-D4: Digital Sample Preparation Automation

DNBelab-D4 is MGI’s first digital microfluidic automation platform for sample preparation. This compact system enables preparation from DNA to DNB on a single sample preparation card.

Integrated automatic quantification eliminates the need for manual measurement after DNB preparation. DNBelab-D4 is currently used primarily for high-throughput sequencing library preparation, including metagenomics sequencing of unknown pathogens, while also supporting a wide range of research and medical applications.

MGIUS-R3 Robotic Ultrasound at Arab Health

In parallel with MEDLAB Middle East, MGI is showcasing its robotic ultrasound system, MGIUS-R3, at Arab Health. Tele-robotic ultrasound represents a key advancement in telemedicine, enabling patients to receive ultrasound screening services remotely.

The system played a critical role during the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting frontline clinicians with remote diagnosis, and is now widely applied in both tele-diagnosis and tele-education scenarios.

MGI representatives will be present at Arab Health until 2 February and at MEDLAB Middle East from 6–9 February. Visitors are invited to explore MGI’s latest platforms and discuss how these solutions can address a wide range of genomic and clinical needs.
