2019, Dubai, UAE – MGI announced its expansion into the Middle East with the establishment of a new regional office in Dubai, strengthening support for customers and partners across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
The expansion enables MGI to better serve universities, hospitals and research institutions with its portfolio of genomic technologies, including sequencing systems, reagents and automated sample preparation solutions.
MGI marked its regional presence at MEDLAB in Dubai, where it showcased key platforms including the MGISEQ-2000, MGISEQ-200 and the DNBSEQ-T7 ultra-high-throughput sequencer. The company also demonstrated its MGIUS-R3 remote ultrasound system, highlighting applications in telemedicine and remote diagnostics.
The DNBSEQ-T7 platform delivers up to 6 Tb of data per day and supports large-scale genomic projects with improved speed and cost efficiency. Population-scale sequencing initiatives that previously required several years can now be completed significantly faster using high-throughput systems.
“We are looking forward to serving customers in the Middle East with a strong local presence and dedicated team,” said Duncan Yu, President of MGI. “We aim to work closely with regional partners to advance healthcare and research through genomic technology.”
MGI’s regional expansion reflects its broader strategy to increase global accessibility to high-performance sequencing technologies and support the growing demand for precision medicine and large-scale genomics.
