(ANN ARBOR, Mich. – January 14, 2020) Swift Biosciences, Inc. (“Swift”), a leader in design and manufacturing of DNA and RNA library preparation and normalization kits for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), and MGI Tech Co., Ltd. (MGI) announced a co-marketing agreement for Swift’s DNA and RNA library preparation products in Europe and Asia Pacific markets.
Partnership Enables Swift Kits on MGI DNBSEQ™ Sequencers
Under the agreement, Swift’s library preparation kits will be compatible with MGI’s DNBSEQ™ sequencers. Selected product lines include Swift’s 2S Turbo DNA for whole genome and targeted sequencing, Rapid RNA and Methyl-Seq DNA Library Kits, powered by patented Adaptase® technology. This partnership allows sequencing users to combine Swift’s library prep expertise with MGI’s expanding platform.
Proven Library Prep Technologies
Since its 2018 launch, Swift’s 2S Turbo DNA Kit has been widely adopted in large-scale laboratories, offering fast, consistent and cost-effective high-throughput sequencing. The Rapid RNA Library Kits reduce library prep time for stranded RNA-Seq with robust mapping, while the Accel-NGS Methyl-Seq DNA Library Kit is a market-proven standard for methylation profiling.
Global Impact and Synergy
The collaboration will support laboratories and research facilities across APAC and EMEA, enabling highly reproducible sequencing results at lower reagent costs. “MGI is a valued partner and we will continue to grow the relationship. We have several exciting products launching this year and our R&D and Manufacturing groups will enable the technology on the MGI platform,” said Nathan Wood, President and CEO of Swift Biosciences.
“We are excited to work with Swift Biosciences in this partnership,” said Jiang Hui, MGI Chief Operating Officer. “MGI is committed to opening its platform, expanding applications, and growing our sequencing community to better support our customers.”
