Paris, France, 17 June 2024 – MGI (MGI Tech Co., Ltd. or its subsidiaries, collectively referred to as MGI), a company dedicated to building core tools and technologies that drive innovation in life science, today announced a collaboration with SeqOne, a leading provider of AI-driven genomic decision support software, to develop and validate end-to-end genomic analysis solutions from sample to report for Human Genetics and Pathology labs worldwide.

The collaboration encompasses three key initiatives:

1. Validating an end-to-end, automated, cost-effective HRD signature solution with MGI DNBSEQ-G99
A partnership between a Pathology Reference Lab in Spain, Agilent Technologies, MGI, and SeqOne aims to validate a routine workflow using Agilent panels, Magnis library preparation automation, MGI DNBSEQ-G99, and SeqOne somaHRD, a clinically validated HRD signature solution, on 96 samples. This solution will enable high-quality, efficient, and flexible HRD testing worldwide, including Genomic Instability scoring and BRCA testing.

2. Enabling and validating SeqOne tertiary analysis with MGI MegaBOLT for Germline Panels, Whole Exome, and Whole Genome
MGI’s MegaBOLT bioinformatics analysis accelerator, a self-developed, MPS-concentrated hardware system, ensures seamless integration with SeqOne’s AI-powered variant identification and analysis solution. This initiative combines MegaBOLT and the SeqOne Platform to provide a versatile, cost-effective, intuitive, and time-saving solution from sample to report, particularly suited for high-throughput Human Genetics labs.

3. Validating SeqOne CE-IVD Platform for Germline and Somatic analysis with MGI sequencers
This technical validation project evaluates the compatibility of SeqOne’s platform with MGI sequencing data, verifying variant calling performance on reference control samples in terms of quality control, sensitivity, and precision.

“We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with SeqOne. By combining MGI’s cutting-edge sequencing technology with SeqOne’s innovative genomic analysis platform, we are poised to deliver actionable insights for personalized healthcare,” said Dr. Yong Hou, General Manager of MGI Europe and Africa. “This partnership underscores our commitment to advancing genomic research and equipping clinicians with tools to provide tailored treatments.”

“This collaboration strongly supports SeqOne’s mission to broaden access to sophisticated genomic analysis and improve healthcare outcomes,” said Martin Dubuc, CEO of SeqOne. “Molecular laboratories worldwide are exploring how MGI’s sequencing and bioinformatics technologies can advance next-generation sequencing (NGS) research and diagnostics. We look forward to integrating SeqOne’s CE-IVD Platform with MGI’s offerings to enhance the quality, sensitivity, and precision of bioinformatic analyses.”
