Wehrheim, Germany, 6 September 2022 — MGI Tech Co., Ltd. (MGI), a global life science innovator, announced the commercial availability of its HotMPS sequencing reagents* and compatible DNBSEQ™ sequencer in Germany as of 9 August 2022.
“We are delighted to bring our proven DNBSEQ™ technology to customers and partners in Germany,” said Dr Yong Hou, General Manager of MGI Europe and Africa. “Germany has rapidly advanced genomic medicine through initiatives such as the European 1+ Million Genomes Initiative and the genome DE strategy. Launching HotMPS* in our most important European market marks a significant step in expanding MGI’s local presence and supporting high-potential genomic research.”
HotMPS Sequencing Chemistry and Instrument Launch*
The launch coincides with the 17th Annual Meeting of the International Conference of Genomics (ICG-17) in Riga, Latvia, where further details of the German rollout were shared. The DNBSEQ-G400 sequencing platform (for HotMPS exclusively) will also be showcased at MEDICA 2022 in Düsseldorf (14–17 November) and at the 32nd GfH Annual Meeting in Kassel (15–17 March 2023).
Developed for MGI’s DNBSEQ-G400**, HotMPS* builds on the combinatorial Probe Anchor Synthesis (cPAS) technology within MGI’s DNBSEQ™ platform, delivering low error rates, low duplication rates, and minimal index hopping. The chemistry enhances signal strength, reduces systematic sequence-based errors, and is compatible with common library preparation methods.
Prof Olaf Rieß, Head of the Institute of Medical Genetics and Applied Genomics at the University of Tübingen, commented: “MGI’s DNBSEQ™ technology has enabled ambitious research projects in our laboratories. We are excited about HotMPS* arriving in Germany and the new research advances it will support.”
Local Support and Service Commitment
MGI’s Wehrheim office hosts a team of sales, Field Application Specialists, and Field Service Engineers ready to assist with the installation and use of the new sequencers. MGI is committed to delivering performance, quality, availability, and affordability for its customers.
HotMPS* reagents must be used only with MGI sequencers configured for HotMPS. Use with unconfigured sequencers may invalidate warranties and IP indemnity.
MGI sequencers configured for HotMPS must not use CoolMPS or StandardMPS reagents (or reagents with 3’O-azidomethyl blocking groups).
HotMPS*, DNBSEQ-G400**, and instruments are available only in selected countries.
StandardMPS and CoolMPS reagents and compatible sequencers are unavailable in Germany, Spain, UK, Hong Kong, Sweden, Belgium, Italy, Finland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Portugal, Austria, and Romania. U.S. orders are not accepted before 1 January 2023.
