The fight against the new coronavirus has entered a critical stage.
Although the nation has tremendous strength, global resource allocation has made the epidemic difficult to contain. In this situation, integrating existing resources efficiently is crucial to support the front line.
We call on industry leaders and entrepreneurial experts in life sciences nationwide to contribute professional resources and scientific talent to combat the epidemic with innovation.
Every action counts. Whether lending a PCR detector, volunteering, donating kits, writing training manuals, providing protective equipment, or offering isolation facilities, every contribution helps.
A group of institutions with sequencers, quantitative PCR instruments, professional volunteers, laboratory space, and testing kits has already pledged support.
As of now, 53 companies have agreed to suspend some research or business operations to provide PCR labs, gene amplification labs, P2 laboratories, and CAP-certified facilities for epidemic control. These efforts include nearly 100 automated nucleic acid analysers, capillary electrophoresis instruments, sequencers, PCR instruments, test kits, and professional personnel, alongside donations of tens of millions of yuan, covering 18 provinces including Beijing, Hubei, Liaoning, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Shanghai, Heilongjiang, and Tianjin.
After coordinating resources, we will assist Hubei and other regions with urgent needs through personnel training, instrument loans, reagent donations, and resource sharing, following local disease control guidelines.
We encourage all institutions with similar capabilities to join this effort. Together, we can make a tangible difference. The speed of epidemic control relies on the contributions of each individual and institution.
Victory against the epidemic, and a return to normal life and production, depends on the collective efforts of all of us.
Mountains and rivers may be distant, but we face the same wind and moon. The epidemic must be resisted, the virus defeated, and the freedom to breathe ensured.
