SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, 29 November 2022 – MGI’s robotic ultrasound system, MGIUS-R3, has been granted market access in Australia by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). This milestone expands MGI’s international presence, following China NMPA approval and European CE certification in 2020, which enabled entry into the Chinese and EU markets to provide advanced long-distance ultrasound diagnostic services.
Australia is known for its rigorous medical device standards, regarded as one of the most stringent markets globally. TGA certification confirms that the MGIUS-R3 system meets the authority’s quality system and manufacturing requirements. With this approval, the robotic ultrasound system is officially available in Australia, giving local clinicians access to innovative ultrasound technology.
MGIUS-R3 is the world’s first ultrasound system that allows doctors to make diagnoses by remotely controlling the ultrasound probe.
