SAN JOSE, CA, United States, 27 February 2020 — MGI announced an agreement with SOPHiA GENETICS to provide MGI customers with access to the SOPHiA Platform for genomic data analysis and interpretation. By combining MGI’s DNBSEQ™ sequencing technology with the SOPHiA Platform, the collaboration offers clinical researchers an integrated solution and supports broader adoption of MGI’s genetic sequencing systems.
Under the terms of the non-exclusive agreement, MGI customers will be able to use the SOPHiA Platform to convert a wide range of previously validated assays for use on DNBSEQ-based sequencers. The SOPHiA Platform currently supports more than 250 genomic applications and is used by over 1,000 healthcare institutions worldwide.

MGI customers will also benefit from the SOPHiA Set-Up Program, which supports laboratories in launching new assays or transferring existing assays onto DNBSEQ sequencing platforms. The programme is designed to facilitate the implementation of MPS-based testing for both somatic and germline applications.
The Set-Up Program provides a structured validation process to establish and demonstrate the analytical performance of genomic assays. This helps laboratories save time, reduce costs and optimise resources, ultimately supporting improved patient care.
