SHENZHEN, China – 13 September 2022 – MGI Tech Co. Ltd. (MGI) has fully upgraded its DNBSEQ-G400 medium-to-high throughput gene sequencer, delivering improved stability, performance, and user experience. This versatile desktop sequencer is widely used across scientific research, disease control, environmental studies, and agriculture, with over 560 publications in high-quality journals citing its performance.
Faster Throughput with Enhanced Flow Cells
The upgraded DNBSEQ-G400 accelerates sequencing by approximately 20%. Using the PE150 mode with 2 FCL Flow Cells, users can now generate over 1 Tb of data per run. Run times have been reduced from 48h to 38h for PE100 and from 66h to 56h for PE150, while maintaining high-quality results.
Improved Algorithm for Flexible Library Handling
Optimised algorithms enhance performance for base imbalance libraries. Single-barcode samples now achieve a SplitRate over 98%, supporting efficient sequencing even with small sample sizes. Methylation libraries, a typical imbalance library, can now be sequenced without adding a balance library, achieving a 96% SplitRate, nearly 60% higher than prior performance. Data output remains consistent regardless of balance library proportion.
Dual-Mode Sequencing for Maximum Flexibility
The upgraded system supports dual-mode sequencing, allowing AB sides to run independently with flexible intervals. A second slide can be added mid-run, with independent sequencing and data output, effectively enabling one instrument to function as two. This feature significantly reduces turnaround time and enhances overall efficiency.
MGI remains committed to advancing precision medicine, agriculture, healthcare, and life science research by providing faster, simpler, and more flexible sequencing solutions.
