“We are thrilled to partner with ALACRiS Theranostics, a leading precision oncology network, to implement MGI’s automation and sequencing platforms at a national level in Germany,” said Duncan Yu, President of MGI. “MGI is committed to enabling precision medicine across multiple cancer indications, including bladder, colorectal and stomach cancers, through a growing network of local clinical centres.”
Co-founded in 2008 by genomic research pioneer Professor Dr Hans Lehrach, ALACRiS Theranostics focuses on translating research innovation into direct benefits for patients and society. Equipped with MGI’s DNBSEQ-G400 sequencers*, MGISP-960 automation system and additional platforms, the new site will be operated by ALACRiS in collaboration with German and Benelux hospitals, including Helios Universitätsklinikum Wuppertal. It will also serve as a hub for MGI product testing, demonstrations, training, experiments and customer visits.
MGI’s technology will further support ALACRiS’ comprehensive molecular tumour analysis (CMTA), providing benchmark data and a fully integrated end-to-end workflow for clinical and research applications. Wet lab protocols will be developed, distributed and harmonised to maximise availability, quality and process precision, supporting a more individualised approach to cancer therapy.
“MGI’s automation and sequencing platforms are an excellent fit for ALACRiS’ molecular oncology and precision medicine services,” said Dr Marie-Laure Yaspo, Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of ALACRiS Theranostics. “We are pleased to serve as a regional customer experience centre for MGI and to foster an innovation platform for research and translational projects.”
“By combining ALACRiS’ best-in-class clinical solutions with MGI’s technologies and an open ecosystem of leading stakeholders, MGI will support the implementation and expansion of CMTA, starting in Germany and extending internationally,” said Dr Yong Hou, General Manager of MGI Europe and Africa.
