London, United Kingdom, 3 November 2022 — MGI Tech Co. Ltd. (MGI), a company focused on developing core tools and technologies that advance life science, has opened its second overseas Customer Experience Center (CEC) in Europe. The launch follows the first CEC opening in Riga, Latvia in late October, adding to MGI’s existing demo labs in Australia and Japan. The new London-based center provides local customers and partners direct access to MGI’s advanced instruments and highlights the company’s commitment to the European market.

“Our new CEC will offer easier access to our cutting-edge technology. It will serve as a hub where visitors can experience MGI’s platforms through hands-on workflows, while enabling our Field Application Scientists to run demo experiments, validations, field testing, and training sessions,” said Duncan Yu, President at MGI. “We’re proud to support researchers and partners in the region as they develop new applications on our automation and sequencing platforms.”

Powered by MGI’s innovative automation and sequencing systems*, the centre will be operated by the BRC Genomics Facility at Imperial College London, led by Dr. Nik Matthews — a leading expert in genome technologies and translational genomics. The facility features MGI’s advanced automation line-up, including the MGISTP-3000, MGISP-100, MGISP-NE32, and MGISP-NE384. It also houses the UK’s first DNBSEQ-G400 sequencer*, enabling applications such as metagenomics, spatial transcriptomics, microbiome analysis, spatiotemporal omics, WGS, WES, and RNA sequencing.

“MGI has supported us with a comprehensive range of equipment that delivers high throughput and fast turnaround across multiple applications,” said Dr. Nik Matthews. “From sample aliquoting automation to MGISP-NE32 and MGISP-NE384 extraction and library prep systems, and now their latest sequencer*, we look forward to expanding our work with the research community and combining our sequencing expertise with MGI’s high-efficiency, high-quality technology*.”

“The new CEC is an essential link to the local research and diagnostic community, enabling new genomic discoveries and medical progress,” said Dr. Yong Hou, General Manager of MGI Europe and Africa. “MGI’s technology* continues to empower customers and partners to drive meaningful scientific outcomes.”
