MGI’s DNBSEQ™ sequencing* technology is advancing agricultural research and molecular breeding through a high-speed, efficient, all-in-one workflow. Over the past decade, sequencing has transformed genomics research, enabling new insights into species genomes and gene regulation.

MGI supports agrigenomics research with high-quality sequencing solutions*. Its single-tube long fragment sequencing (stLFR) technology captures long-fragment DNA information with short-read accuracy, facilitating small variant calling, phasing diploid genomes, structural variation detection, and genome assembly. Using stLFR requires minimal DNA input and produces highly accurate assemblies.

MGI’s platforms also accelerate molecular breeding. The ATOPlex platform uses multiplex PCR for targeted gene panels, detecting multiple targets simultaneously to save time and cost while ensuring reproducibility. Applications include livestock and aquaculture breeding, such as grouper body weight prediction with over 80 per cent accuracy and ammonia tolerance at more than 95 per cent. Low-coverage whole-genome sequencing (lcWGS) enables rapid population analysis and genotype imputation at reduced cost.

Automation systems such as the MGISTP-7000 and MGISP-960 streamline sample processing and library preparation, increasing throughput and reducing manual errors. DNBSEQ™ sequencers from DNBSEQ-G50* to DNBSEQ-T7* offer high accuracy, low duplicates, and extremely low index hopping, catering to different sample sizes and throughput needs.

MGI also provides an integrated Molecular Breeding Analysis System for data storage, processing, and analysis, creating a complete end-to-end solution.
