Shenzhen, China, 26 October 2022 — MGI and MAERSK China have signed a strategic partnership agreement to build a global supply chain system supporting MGI’s international operations.
The agreement was signed by Mr Zhang Zhongping, Sales Director of Tech & Electronics at Maersk China, and Mr Liu Jian, Executive Vice President of MGI, on behalf of their respective organisations.
As one of the few companies worldwide capable of independently developing and mass-producing high-throughput clinical genetic sequencers, MGI is dedicated to providing customers with advanced sequencing instruments. Founded in 2016, MGI operates in over 80 countries and regions, serving more than 1,300 customers. It maintains research and production bases, as well as a global training and service network.
“Given the imperative to establish a global logistics delivery system, MGI hopes to achieve win-win results with MAERSK through deeper cooperation, supporting Chinese enterprises going global and enabling future business growth,” said Mr Liu Jian. “This strategic relationship requires continuous cultivation and maintenance. In recent years, MGI has collaborated with MAERSK China on air, sea and multimodal transportation, inland logistics, overseas warehousing, and distribution services.
Under the new strategic partnership, both parties plan to expand cooperation in logistics and supply chain management, leveraging their respective resources and networks for mutual benefit. They will explore opportunities in sea transportation, cold-chain logistics, overseas storage, customs clearance, low-carbon transportation, and digital logistics solutions, addressing the evolving challenges and opportunities of global supply chains.
