SHENZHEN, China, 5 July 2023 – MGI, a company dedicated to being a world-leading life science innovator, is proud to announce that its DNBSEQ-T20*×2 (“T20*”) gene sequencing platform has been awarded the Globee® Award for Medical Equipment in the 15th Annual 2023 Golden Bridge Business and Innovation Awards®.
The Golden Bridge Awards, renowned for recognising visionaries, innovators, and leaders across business and technology, selects experienced judges from diverse industries to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of entries. This ensures the awards truly reflect outstanding achievements in each field. Previous winners include Amazon, IBM and Meta. This marks MGI’s second Golden Bridge Award, following the 2022 Globee® recognition for Advanced COVID-19 Response Efforts, underscoring global recognition of MGI’s technological advancements and contributions.
Launched in February 2023, MGI’s ultra-high-throughput sequencer T20* was designed to improve sequencing efficiency, enabling faster, higher-throughput sequencing and making molecular-level health monitoring and disease prevention more accessible. T20* successfully lowers the unit cost of genome sequencing to below $100, positioning it as a key driver in the expansion of the global genomics industry, accelerating understanding of the human genome, advancing medical applications, and reshaping the industry landscape.
In April 2023, T20* received its first corporate order from JMDNA Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd., empowering gene-focused applications and large population cohort research, including Stereo-seq projects. In May 2023, T20* received the BEYOND Healthcare Innovation Award, further demonstrating MGI’s commitment to technological innovation.
